Designing Unique & Special Mountain Resorts That Work

The creation of our plans is more than a mechanical exercise. It is a planning process where we take into account the reasons why people are attracted to mountain resort areas. We work closely with our clients to help clarify their vision of their resort development projects. We carefully consider the physical and environmental capabilities of the land to support the proposed resort development. Throughout the process we proactively address issues that will impact on the sustainability of the project, environmentally, socially and economically.

Golf Course Planning

Golf courses are often identified as desired facilities to be incorporated into the all-season development and operation of a mountain resort. While BHA are not golf course architects, we apply our GIS analyses of the study areas to define golf course opportunities that tie into the overall potential at a resort. Our plans are designed to first determine whether or not the site is capable of accommodating golf. Secondly they are oriented to suggest that the course should begin and end in a particular location that complements the quality of experience offered at the resort.

Finally they define the potential development area within the context of environmental realities and the relationship with the existing and planned ski lifts and trails, base area villages and residential configurations.
