Red Mountain, Rossland, British Columbia, Canada
When Red Mountain first opened in 1940 there was one rope tow. Brent Harley and Associates’ 2001 Master Plan was approved to expand the resort to include 11 ski lifts servicing 169 ski trails on five mountains. The mountain design reinforces the resort’s low density powder skiing character. At buildout, Red Mountain will have capacity to handle 9,500 skiers per day. It will be staged from two separate base areas, one being a pedestrian oriented village. Associated development has been carefully planned to maximize the opportunity to establish ski to / ski from accommodation units.
