"The City of Sun Valley has commenced the Sun Valley Strategy 2010 - an Update of the Sun Valley Comprehensive Plan. Sun Valley's Comprehensive Plan (or 'Comp Plan') consists of goals and strategies to guide the physical development of the City. First adopted in 1978, the City's Comp Plan was last updated in 1994. The primary purpose of this Comp Plan Update is to provide an effective decision-making tool that clearly identifies the community's vision and establishes an achievable implementation land use plan for the future. The Comp Plan Update process and final product is required by the Idaho Code and therefore must specifically address the statutory requirements set by the State of Idaho.
The planning process includes intensive public consultation that recognizes the many levels that the community becomes both informed and involved in the future of the City. A major goal of the project is to provide a variety of opportunities for community input, which includes this website and a chance to comment on this important document. The consulting team's direction will be based on key Principles, which will lead to depiction of various scenarios and an ultimate Visioning for the preferred future development of the City.
