Mansfield Ski Club Master Plan
Overview
BHA was selected to develop the Master Plan for Mansfield Ski Club. The goal of the project was to attract and retain club memberships by enhancing the overall experience. With this in mind, BHA established project objectives: expand the skiable terrain, explore the all-season capacity of the site, and plan for the development of the village and base area, including an eco-neighbourhood/resort residential development.
The Mansfield Ski Club (MSC) is a community ski hill located 2 hours from Toronto. Recognized for their ski racing program, the Master Plan included the improvement of the skiing infrastructure that would allow MSC to cater to a wider variety of race events. The Master Plan also incorporated designs to modernize the ski product on offer by integrating a new terrain park, a progressive learning area, and gladed ski runs. To provide an improved skier experience and better resort operation, skier circulation and lift alignments were also reviewed. Building on the desire to enhance the community feeling at the club, the village core design was revised and augmented with the addition of built space for retail and skier services, as well as a multi-use community pavilion. In 2016, Mansfield Ski Club implemented the first steps of the Master Plan with the construction of a new chairlift, the inauguration of two new ski runs and the construction of their first resort residence.
