Nakusp and Arrow Lakes Trails Master Plan

Overview

BHA was hired by the Village of Nakusp to create a Trails Master Plan that will guide the future maintenance and development of the trails network in Area K of the Regional District of Central Kootenay (RDCK). This Trails Master Plan functions as a comprehensive strategy for the management of recreational access in the region, promoting stewardship and sustainable resource use. The plan is founded on key economic, social, and environmental values.

The process was stakeholder-driven, with a Working Committee made up of representatives from local trail user groups guiding the development of the plan from start to finish.  In addition, BHA designed and facilitated a series of public open houses, community meetings, and an online survey of trail users in order to ensure that the final Trails Master Plan best represented the needs and desires of the community as a whole.
