Silver Star Mountain Resort Master Plan

Overview

BHA initiated the Master Plan for Silver Star Mountain Resort with the goal of enhancing the resort’s reputation as the premier, family-oriented, all-season mountain resort in British Columbia. To this end, the Master Plan details the creation of new ski terrain that caters to the diverse needs of families and encourages skier skill progression. This is complemented by the significant expansion of gladed ski terrain and a terrain park comparable to the best in the world. In total, the Resort Master Plan proposes the addition of seven new ski pods and nine new chairlifts, more than doubling the skiable area at Silver Star Mountain Resort.

As planned, the summer season at Silver Star will continue to grow in prominence as the resort enhances its all-season presence. New trails and features will be added to the mountain bike park and the cross-country mountain bike trail network will be expanded. In addition, a world-class 18-hole golf course is proposed for development, complete with clubhouse and practice area.

Balancing out the proposed all-season, recreational offerings is an intimate, pedestrian-oriented Village Core. Importantly, the Village concept maintains the ski in/ski out accessibility that the resort is known for while adding resort residential in a form and quantity that is in balance with the mountain and meets the needs of international destination travelers.

Looking to the future and guided by the Resort Master Plan, Silver Star will continue to improve and evolve, solidifying its position as the premier family-oriented, all-season resort in BC.
