BHA Christmas Party 2019

As the holidays approach and 2019 comes to a close, BHA set aside some time to tackle new challenges, test our limits, realize our lack of forearm strength, and celebrate the year that was. We headed to Ground Up Climbing Centre in Squamish to tackle their ropes and boulder walls for BHA Christmas Party 2019. With some instruction and guidance from the very helpful staff we were scaling to new heights, pushed by a mix of exhilaration and panic.

Split into two groups, we tackled routes ranging from 5.6 to 5.10 with varying levels of success in an effort to earn points for our teams and win the highly coveted “bragging rights”. We certainly pushed ourselves and each other and all left with a new appreciation for climbing.

In the end, our intra-office competition was decided by the narrowest of margins and with the help of lady luck Team A walked away the right to wear a smug smile for the rest of the evening. We toasted our accomplishments and the year that was with a well-earned beverage and a delicious meal at the Salted Vine Kitchen + Bar in Squamish.
