The Lake Louise Ski Area Long-Range Plan

Public Consultation April 23 – June 15, 2019

The Lake Louise Ski Area is currently seeking public comment on its first Long-Range Plan. The Long-Range Plan, or LRP, will serve to guide development at Lake Louise Ski Area for the next 10 to 15 years. It represents the culmination of a planning process that was initiated in 2006 with the creation of the Parks Canada Ski Area Management Guidelines and followed by the Lake Louise Site Guidelines for Development and Use in 2015. Throughout this period, the Lake Louise Ski Area has been engaged in a comprehensive planning process that will address the requirements laid out by Parks Canada and ensure the ski area remains a premier, international ski destination for years to come.

BHA was retained by the Lake Louise Ski Area to develop its Mountain Master Plan which will guide the improvement and expansion of all on-mountain facilities, including ski lifts, ski trails, and day lodges. As part of a team of consultants, BHA worked through a collaborative and iterative planning process to arrive at the preferred concept for the ski area. It will address existing challenges and imbalances in the on-mountain offerings and capitalize on the unrealized potential of the Lake Louise Ski Area.

The Lake Louise Ski Area and the consulting team are eager to hear your thoughts on the improvements and developments proposed in the LRP. Please find more information on the LRP and the public engagement process at https://lrp.skilouise.com/lrp. The public comment period ends June 15, 2019.
