Vista Ridge, Fort McMurray, Alberta

Vista Ridge is an All Season Park wholly owned by the Municipality of Wood Buffalo near Fort McMurray, Alberta.  The ski area is managed by the Vista Ridge Recreation Association and is a valuable community asset.  In the spring of 2009, BHA was retained to create a Ski Area Master Plan for Vista Ridge.  Following the creation of a digital database BHA initiated the Master Planning process by reviewing earlier concepts and analyzing the physical characteristics of the existing facilities and adjacent undeveloped lands.  Complementing this, Ms. Ann Everatt, Vice President of Academics at Keyano College, conducted an envisioning exercise designed to determine the development and operational goals and objectives of Vista Ridge, the results of which created the foundation for the Vista Ridge Master Plan.

The Vista Ridge Master Plan illustrated a full range of potential for the ski area including ski terrain and lift expansion, an executive golf course and  a variety of summer and winter programming.
